Socio-Environmental Responsibility

Origin, quality, and socio-environmental responsibility are the essential pillars that guide our projects, which aim to be environmentally sound, economically viable, socially fair, and culturally diverse.

Social responsibility begins with the region where the project is developed, with the intention of contributing to the socioeconomic development of the communities surrounding Serra do Tombador and the Jequiriçá Valley.

This responsibility shapes our relationship with every worker on our team and extends to our partners and suppliers.
Environmental responsibility is understood as an obligation — a commitment to the land that produces our fruits, to the planet, and to future generations. In practical terms, it means the continuous pursuit of building a sustainable project, while recognizing that no project can endure if, at the end of each cycle, it does not have all its accounts paid, its commitments honored, its investments rewarded, and its employees compensated.

Our socio-environmental responsibility is expressed through a series of defining features and is present in every decision within the project. It is not a mere statement, but a fundamental part of our purpose and essence.

Responsibility and Commitment to Our Team

  • We strictly comply with all applicable labor laws.
  • We prioritize hiring local workers and, whenever possible, women.
  • We offer wages approximately 20% higher than the regional average.
  • We provide transportation for employees and ensure dignified working conditions — proper uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE), cafeteria facilities, and restrooms with essential hygiene items.
  • Our employees receive dental care plans, life and accident insurance, and telemedicine services extended to spouses, parents, and children.
  • We offer decent housing for on-site workers.
  • We eliminate any arbitrary or discriminatory dismissal practices.
  • We promote training programs supported by SENAR, Embrapa, and other institutions, in addition to internal courses, and we work to ensure equal opportunities for all employees.

Responsibility and Commitment to the Land That Sustains Us

  • Before any intervention, we secure prior authorization from the relevant environmental authorities.
  • We prioritize the use of renewable energy sources (solar and wind); 100% of the energy we consume is offset by distributed solar energy produced on the farm.
  • We restore all springs and streams by planting native riparian vegetation species.
  • Biological-waste-treatment restrooms are distributed throughout the work areas.

Responsibility and Commitment to Our Consumers

Corporate social responsibility is directly connected to consumer rights, as companies have the obligation to respect and promptly serve their clients. The Serra do Tombador project seeks to align with the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection, which include:

  • Avoiding the reinforcement of offensive stereotypes in advertising and communication
  • Providing full, accurate, and understandable information to all
  • Educating consumers on the proper use of our products
  • Ensuring the safety of our products above all else
  • Offering environmentally responsible and sustainable products
  • Promoting educational initiatives that support conscious consumption

Responsibility and Commitment to Surrounding Communities

Our future goal is to encourage independent production by local families, sharing our experience and knowledge. Additionally, we aim to inspire the communities around our project to voluntarily and authentically adopt attitudes, behaviors, and actions that promote population well-being and environmental preservation.
