Located in the heart of the North Chapada Diamantina, the city of Jacobina, in Bahia, is one of the most significant regional centers in the Bahian semi-arid. Situated about 330 km from Salvador, it combines historical tradition, natural diversity and a privileged climate, a direct result of its mountainous geography. Known as the “Gold City”, Jacobina emerged during the colonial period, during the mining cycle. Since then it has consolidated itself as a center of work and prosperity in the interior of Bahia. Over time, its economy diversified, incorporating agriculture, cattle raising and ecotourism as pillars of sustainable development.
